About our sushi.
Is the sushi rice and tempura batter under the same certification as the fish?
Yes. The OK Kosher Certification covers the entire sushi bar — fish, rice, tempura batter, sauces, and every roll component — not just the protein. Flour-based items use Kemach Yashan flour.
Is your sushi rolled to order?
Yes. Sushi is hand-rolled at our bar when your order is placed, at 45 East 34th Street. We don't sell pre-packaged rolls and we don't vacuum-pack overnight inventory — every roll leaves the bar minutes after it's made.
What kosher certification covers the sushi bar?
OK Kosher Certification under Chalav Yisrael, Kemach Yashan, and Mashgiach Temidi standards — the same certification that covers the rest of the kitchen. A mashgiach is on site during all operating hours. The current certificate is linked in the footer of every page.
Are the sauces Chalav Yisrael?
Yes. Eel sauce, spicy mayo, ginger dressing, and every other sauce on our sushi bar are Chalav Yisrael — covered by our OK Kosher dairy certification.
Can I order kosher sushi platters for an event?
Yes. Tiberias caters kosher sushi platters for kiddushes, bar and bat mitzvahs, corporate events, holiday programs, and shiva platters anywhere in the five boroughs. Use the inquiry form on the catering page to start.
When is the sushi bar open?
The sushi bar runs during all dining hours — Sun–Thu 12 PM to 2 AM and Saturday post-Shabbat to 2 AM. Closed Friday for Shabbat. Late-night sushi is one of the things Tiberias is known for in Midtown.
Do you have vegetarian rolls?
On the menu, that's the Sweet Potato Avocado Tempura. Off the menu, just ask — the bar is glad to roll you a cucumber, avocado, or vegetable roll.
